The oldest vehicle in the museum is a replica of an 1885 Mercedes-Benz, and there are other vehicles dating back to the 1880s.The plane was largely abandoned until the 1970s when Ken Cianchette, a founding trustee at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, discovered it and set about restoring it to flying condition.
